Painting Spring Flowers At Home

In this blog post I am sharing the process of painting spring flowers which are in bloom right now in my house…

We had an unusually cold February this year.

But my indoor flowers are already in bloom and I couldn’t help painting them…

I very seldom paint flowers at dark background. But this time, I had a very light and fragile flowers - so I have decided to set them up against dark background to highlight the colours and natural forms of these spring flowers.

This was the intermediate stage of the painting. I have changed the background details afterwards and added some colourful accent at the front part of the still life.

That is what I’ve got at the end.

This painting is done in oil on a high quality stretched canvas.

It is available and soon to be added to my website shop. Contact me if interested in purchasing this item.

Though this painting is not yet framed, this photo displays how this painting will look like at the light coloured wall.

I like this simple minimalistic box frame with this painting.
